PRESENTATION

DPA. Documents of Architectural Design is an academic architectural journal published by the Architectural Design Department of the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona.
The DPA journal is outside the strict rules that the market dictates and keeps away from craving for novelty, offering a critical reflection with respect to architectural projects, by means of modest resources and intellectual ambition.
Since 1997 diverse copies have been edited which have been developed from an editorial line in which the monographic issues dedicated to three thematic areas have been alternated:

• The work of an important figure in the world of architecture (Lubetkin, Távora, Dieste, Max Bill, Reidy, Cosenza, Vacchini, Gardella, Villanueva)
• The exploration of a topic that addresses significant issues of the current architectural debate (Courtyard and house, Abstraction, Form and memory, Zero level, Mat-Building)
• A place, either a city or a neighbourhood, or a territorial area, or even, a complex architectural piece. (Tapiola, Modern Bogotá, Nordics)

STRUCTURE OF THE PUBLICATION
Each issue has around 100 pages of a 21x21 cm format and is made up of, approximately, a dozen articles of between 6 and 8 pages each. The articles are distinguished and grouped according to their nature:

A theoretical explanation of a general nature dealing with the topic from diverse approaches.

• The specific study of works and projects related to the theme of the issue.
• On certain occasions, the nature of the articles received may suggest the addition of an additional section.

In order to guarantee the quality of their content and ensure their academic recognition, the journal adopts the quality criteria required at an international level consisting of the incorporation of a scientific committee, the offer of public participation by means of “call for papers”, the revision through pairs of specialists and the incorporation into the databases of international journals.

Paper edition, black and white. 500 copies per issue, 100 pages. White coated paper 115 grams, matt laminated cover 320 grams. Format 210 x 210 mm.
